 Greener at the fairway
FirmGreen is working with the Toshiba Classic to protect the environment
during the
PGA, Inc. sanctioned Champions Tour golf event that takes place
March 7 - March 13, 2011
at the Newport Beach Country Club. Each year, the Toshiba Classic works to host 80,000+
golf fans while minimizing any environmental impact during the event and afterward.
For the 2011 tournament, FirmGreen is supplying solar power to the scoreboards and golf carts.
We are providing two gCNG® (renewable natural gas, or biomethane) powered vehicles for the
tournament to use:
- FGI's gCNG® powered Ford 250 Pickup will transport e-waste from the collection sites
to assist
with the Toshiba Classic e-waste efforts.
- The "FirmGreen Machine" – a gCNG® powered shuttle will be used to transport passengers
from remote parking lots
to the venues.
- FirmGreen is supplying bio diesel to the onsite power generators.
For 2011, the tournament will continue focusing on recycling of outdated electronics.

4th Annual "Swing for the Green" e-waste recycling effort. You will find the schedule
for collection and a list of items that can be accepted.
