Green Energy Center© Gets Green Light For Bond Inducement
Ohio Air Quality Board Unanimously Approves Bond Measure
NEWPORT BEACH, CA, June 19, 2006 — Today, FirmGreen, Inc. (FGI)
of Newport Beach, California announced that it received unanimous approval
from the Ohio Air Quality Development Authority (OAQDA) for a bond inducement
on June 13, 2006. With this approval, FGI expects to complete financing
for the construction of its Green Energy Center© (GEC) near Grove
City, Ohio within thirty days.
FGI will use its patented CO2 Wash® technology to clean and process
the landfill gas (LFG) for electrical generation, compressed natural gas
(CNG), and clean renewable methanol. The Ohio EPA recently approved installation
of FirmGreen’s LFG processing facilities, which are permitted to
produce up to 20 million gallons of methanol annually for use in alternative
fuel production and fuel cell technology.
“We’re especially pleased to receive the unanimous vote from
the Ohio Air Quality board.” said Steve Wilburn, President and CEO
of FGI. “We feel it reflects their confidence in our ability to
protect the environment while producing clean burning renewable fuels
from local biogas resources.”
Initially the GEC will produce CNG to fuel the fleet of the adjacent
landfill operator, and electricity for the landfill’s administrative
and maintenance buildings, with additional CNG production becoming available
to power school and transit buses. Mitsubishi Gas Chemical America, Inc.
(MGCA) has contracted to purchase up to 5 million gallons annually of
the methanol production. FGI also expects to sell methanol from its GEC
to area Biodiesel production facilities.
FGI plans to begin construction October 2006; CNG is expected to be in
production from the landfill facility by mid 2008.
